About the Program
Program Objectives:
Recent technological and industrial developments have increased the dependency on scarce natural resources such as energy and raw materials, and utilizing these resources in the most efficient way has become an issue of critical importance. Given this situation and the relevant evolving business and working conditions, industrial engineers are of great importance to firms in the management of scarce resources, recommending alternative production policies, and ensuring the coordination of interdisciplinary projects.
Industrial Engineering is a branch of engineering that uses modeling and problem solving tools and methods to analyze, plan, organize, monitor, and improve manufacturing and service sector systems which involve human activities, machines, materials and other elements.
The proposed Master of Science program in Industrial Engineering (with thesis) is structured to give students the skills they will need for the design and analysis of manufacturing and/or service organizations. This program will focus on the theory, applications, and practice of industrial engineering and operations research. Basic research areas are production planning and inventory control, manufacturing automation, manufacturing systems design and analysis, cost management, operations research, decision analysis, quality management, and human factors engineering.
Our aim at Kadir Has University is to provide our students with an education utilizing the latest techniques and methods and train high-quality professionals who can use the world’s scarce resources in the most efficient way. Students graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Industrial Engineering and other fields are accepted to the Master of Science program in Industrial Engineering and trained as specialists in various areas.
The Master of Science Program in Industrial Engineering has been established to give the students the skills they will need to design, plan and analyze systems in production and/or service organizations while using scarce resources in the most efficient and productive way. Related fields and subjects involve operations research, production planning and control, quality control and management, ergonomics, inventory management, cost management, facility design and planning, and systems analysis.
